Mephedrone Trafficking

22 individuals have recently been accused of participating in trafficking Mephedrone (4-MMC) and 4-MEC. One interesting aspect of the article is that they keep referring to the substances involved as “Molly”. It is a well known fact that the term “Molly” is used to refer to MDMA and not 4-MMC. This leads me to believe that the people involved were trying to sell the product as MDMA which is what led to the DEA’s involvement. Sadly, it isn’t unusual to see people selling Mephedrone as MDMA in an effort to make more profit.

It is believed that the group is responsible for distributing more than 100 kilograms of 4-MMC and 4-MEC. Agents seized over 25 kg of the substances and $100,000 in cash. More information is available below.
