Bath Salts Drug Information
With the recent banning of popular smoking blends or “incense”, a new drug has surfaced on the market.

While the active ingredients in these bath salts (usually MDPV or Mephedrone) have been sold for years under the guise of plant fertilizer, they have only recently skyrocketed in popularity.
The active ingredient Methylenedioxypyrovaleron (MDPV) in these bath salts raises concern due its highly addictive nature. MDPV has strong stimulating effects similar to cocaine. It is also reported to have four times the potency of methylphenidate.
These bath salts are usually available at most head shops or variety stores. When irresponsible users are exposed to highly addictive and dangerous substances like MDPV, overdoses and emergency room visits are common.
